Being a Clinician (BCBA) at Devereux STAIRS has the following advantages for professionals dedicated to ABA:

 

You will have an opportunity to work with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team utilizing principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to provide intensive treatment to children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, complex behavioral challenges, and functional communication needs.

 

What some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Working in the treatment, community, and home settings with the families of individuals to provide behavioral parent training to promote successful discharge home.
  • Provide training, consultation, and performance feedback to direct care staff.
  • Serves as an Autism Coach within the Devereux PBIS-Autism model.
  • Coordinates clinical services with the interdisciplinary team using data based decision making.
  • Attends treatment team and inter-agency meetings.
  • Documents service delivery as required by funders and regulations.
  • Provides supervision as needed to STAIRS staff members pursuing RBT, BCBA, or other relevant clinical certification or practicum experience.

The Short Term Autism Intensive Residential Services (STAIRS) program provides intensive ABA treatment to individuals with severe behavioral challenges and significant functional communication needs within a neurobehavioral model. The primary goal is to decrease challenging behaviors and increase socially appropriate functionally equivalent responses that improve the individuals’ safety and quality of life while also supporting families in generalization and maintenance of treatment gains across all settings.

 

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and  approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  Masters or Doctorate in psychology, applied behavior analysis, or related human services field.

 

EXPERIENCE: Clinical experience in functional behavior assessment, applied behavior analysis, and evidenced-based treatment practices for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder is required. Experience with functional communication training and/or PECS is required. BCBA preferred. Experience developing positive behavior intervention plans for individuals with severe behaviors preferred. Flexible schedule with some early evening hours required. BCBA supervision and post-doctoral supervision for psychology licensure is available.

 

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children
