Pay-rate: $18.50 - $21.09 (based upon education and experience)

Shift: 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday

 

Everyday as a Job Coach you will: 

  • Devlop activities to support the transition of students from childhood to adulthood
  • Directly supervise, train, and coach students within the school and community job sites
  • Work with students to achieve a level of accomplishment and productivity that allows for greater employment independence
  • Work with a team to assess skills and level of functioning/participation and document progress and involvement of students
  • Provide information and input based on level of participation, functioning and progress to goals

The Brandywine School located in Glenmoore, PA offers education curriculum to children functioning at all grade levels. A multi-sensory educational strategy is used at all schools, employing traditional instruction, hands-on and independent learning, as well as technology, to individualize a student’s progress in all academic areas, particularly math and reading. The transition from school to career, and all of the necessary interrelated skills, are a main focus of the school program. Devereux’s approved private schools offer high quality, innovative special education programs that work in tandem with families and school districts to ensure that students can return to their local schools and communities with the tools they will need to succeed. Children and young adults may come to Devereux as a day student, or as a part of residential treatment. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred. High school diploma required.

 

EXPERIENCE: Two years experience working with adolescents and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders in a transition and employment setting preferred.
