Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. Nestled near the beaches between the Pacific Coast and Santa Ynez mountains, Devereux California is a therapeutic behavioral health treatment facility offering residential services, community living, day programs, and clinical services for adults with multiple diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia and other cognitive disorders. Our beautiful Goleta campus overlooks the Pacific Ocean, and has been treating adults with co-occurring diagnoses in California since 1945.

 

This position is responsible for assisting the Program Manager with overseeing the efficient operation of our Weisman program. Weisman Center is a residential care facility for the elderly that serves both men and women, age 59 and older. The capacity of this warm, caring home is 15 people. The goal of Weisman is to maintain an excellent quality of life for an aging population. Maintaining skills, functioning and good health are all promoted.  

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct care support to individuals served

  • Provide guidance and support to staff

  • Management of petty cash funds

  • Staff scheduling and allocation per established staff/individual served ratios within programs

  • Maintains, collects (from assigned staff) and enters all PSR compliance data

  • Oversees accurate and timely collection of individual served data by Direct Care Staff per individual goals and objectives

  • Enters data into electronic health system

  • Plan and create activities for individuals served

  • Creates mileu support, schedules, and other materials

  • Must have the ability to work with individuals with moderate to severe challenging behaviors

  • Other duties as assigned by Program Administrator

Qualifications

Prior supervisory experience in direct care highly preferred. Must have a valid drivers license and a good driving record. Must also be able to pass thorough background checks & Livescan. Proficiency using Word and Excel. Must be able to complete two weeks of paid, job training classes. Must be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and a team player. Have a strong passion for assisting adults with special needs.

  • Must obtain Direct Support Professional Year 1 Certification within 6-months of employment

  • Must obtain Direct Support Professional Year 2 Certification within 12-months of employment. If employee is DSP Year 1 certified upon hire, then DSP Year 2 certification must be obtained within 6-months of employment.

  • Must be a Registered Behavioral Technician or be willing to obtain certification within 60-days of initial employment or Be a Licensed Psychiatric Technician or be a Qualified Behavior Modification Professional.

  • Must obtain Adult Residential Administrator (ARF) Certification through the State of California, Community Care Licensing Division, upon hire.

  • First Aid and CPR certification required.

  • Proficiency using Word & Excel

 

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of 12-months experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities. 2 years of experience and prior supervisory/lead staff experience in developmental services highly preferred.

 

Compensation is $20-$21/hr DOE
