Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Georgia was established in Cobb County Georgia in 1973 at the invitation of Governor Jimmy Carter and for more than 40 years has been providing new hopes, new dreams, and new choices for children, adolescents and young adults struggling with emotional and behavioral health challenges.

 

Starting salary - $42640/year. Additional compensation for experience and education above the minimum required. 

 

DEVEREUX GEORGIA GRACE'S PLACE

We are excited to announce we have broken ground on a brand new campus!  Due to Devereux Georgia's history of success in treating victims since 2009, the state has chosen to use Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health for their newly approved treatment program. The 24-bed program is a Child Caring Institution (Group Home) for victimized females between the ages of 12 and 17. Our new Child Caring Institution campus is located near the Gwinnett County Police Headquarters on Hi Hope Road.

 

The primary responsibility for this role is to ensure that the educational, medical, emotional, and social needs of the resident are met. Additional duties include, but not limited to:

Monitoring the resident’s needs and ensuring that appropriate services are being provided and arranged for in order to meet those needs.

  • Case work services as provided in the resident's service plans; and monitoring of the resident's educational and/or vocational needs.
  • Plans, provides, arranges, coordinates, and documents service to residents and their families.
  • Model life skills and provide activities for youth to practice life skills and provide appropriate feedback
  • Overall respnsibilities for Case management; assumes role of community support as well as administrative responsibilities.  Provide full clinical case management services to clients.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with both internal and external contacts/sources to ensure the clients have access to community resources as required.  Will work closely with the Unit Supervisors to ensure care is coordinated and provided. 
  • Coordinate discharge planning  and meet with family member, regulatory agencies and case workers as needed to facilitate discharge plans.
  • On-call duties as scheduled.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  Bachelors in psychology, social work or other related field, Master's preferred. 

 

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum two years previous experience in behavioral healthcare setting, including internships preferred.

  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimum supervision; self-motivated individual; general knowledge of clinical best practices for working with adolescent populations and their families/resources; general knowledge of mental health, funding and related services within Georgia and other states served.; general knowledge of standard office computer applications and ability to learn new programs.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
