Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC), located in Malvern, PA, provides programs and services for children and adolescents who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis within a safe and compassionate inpatient environment. The team is currently seeking a Clinical Supervisor to coordinate the delivery of care for patients by providing directions, clinical consultation, and supervision to the clinical/social services staff and interns/students within the program.

Clinical Supervisor day to day responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates equitable distribution of case assignments and ensures adequate clinical coverage consistent with 24/7 acute level of care.

  • Provides direction, clinical consultation and supervision to the clinical/social services staff and interns/students. Assisting with gathering of all bio-psychosocial information; identifying and assessing risk; identifying patient’s strengths; assessments; case conceptualization; development and implementation of clinically appropriate, individualized, strength-based and patient-centered treatment to include supportive, family, group, individual work and discharge planning.
  • Maintains a caseload as determined by census, capacity and capability to ensure quality service provision that demonstrates active treatment in accordance with the patients’ treatment plans.

  • Provides supervision and support to the Clinical/Social Services Department to include documentation audits and implementation of evidenced-based treatments, assessments and outcome initiatives in compliance with Medicaid and other regulatory requirements.

  • Ensures concurrent/continued stay reviews are conducted with all appropriate funding sources with timely and accurate data entry of all continuation of stay certifications. 
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring process of new members of the social services/clinical department. Serves as a mentor to new employees. Provides on-going feedback to direct reports related to employee performance and completes scheduled performance evaluations, meeting procedural time-frames.

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and  approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Master’s degree in social work or equivalent (psychology or professional counseling) required.  Must have Clinical License

 

EXPERIENCE: At least three years of clinical experience in a behavioral health-care setting serving children and adolescents.  Supervisory experience a plus.  

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques – upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes.  Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) techniques.
