Pay:

  • Base pay now starting at $23.32 / hr for candidates with a Bachelor degree 
  • Experience credit applied in addition to base pay
  • $1,560 annual increase for Master degree
  • Overtime payment at 1.5x your hourly rate

For over 50 years -- The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT the Behavior Specialist position will be part of a cohesive, passionate and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.

Position:

We are seeking a Behavior Specialist who has experience with the student population and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with learning differences and mental health/behavioral challenges. If this describes you, then look no further!

Schedule:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8am-4pm

Thursday: 11am-7pm

Off Tuesdays

One weekend every 3 weeks, Saturday and Sunday 7am-3pm

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage all aspects of milieu treatment; data collection and record maintenance for student population
  • Assisting program management and staff with daily activity schedule to ensure it meets all student needs
  • Accurately assess and report student behavioral performance
  • Maintain behavioral records reflective of student goals, progress, strategies and outcomes
  • Participate in clinical treatment team meetings
  • Provide behavioral professional development, training, and coaching for direct care staff
  • Work with families on goals their child is working on and how to implement while at home
  • Communicate recommendations for modifications to campus-wide and individualized treatment protocols to colleagues, supervisor and administration for consideration
  • Collaborate with all departments to meet student’s treatment needs
  • Complete Treatment Integrity Audits for Education and Boarding Faculty
  • Maintain high standards of personal, professional and ethical behavior

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, education or related field
  • 2 years’ experience working with youth with learning differences and special needs
  • Experience with Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Support Plans

 

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in applied behavioral analysis or related field
    • RBT (registered behavior therapist) certified
