Devereux Education Strategies and Solutions, (DESS), a division of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a highly collaborative and experienced leader responsible for managing and promoting the Devereux Center for Effective Schools (CES) programs. In this position you will work collaboratively with the program’s Director to manage projects and coordinate tasks across project team, deliver school-based consultation and training, conduct research, and seek funding opportunities to support best practices implementation in schools. this key position will provide oversight, direction, consultation and direct support to schools, educators, in evidence-based interventions and prevention and services that represent school district needs. In this role this key individual will serve as the face of, and further the reputation of Devereux through service provision, participating in regional and national professional organizations and presentations, conducting research and publishing or supporting the development of publications and demonstrate clinical best practices. The creative candidate we are seeking will pursue funding opportunities, and manage outcomes for services provided and actively market those outcomes to promote departmental growth, developing new service lines, including direct services, oversee the recruitment and orientation of interns and serve as the face of, and further Devereux’s reputation. This position will be hybrid, working from home, with the ability to travel in close proximity to Philadelphia and surrounding locations.

The mission of the Center for Effective Schools (CES) is to build capacity in schools for serving children with, or at-risk for developing, emotional and behavioral disorders. This mission is accomplished through training, consultation, new model program development, and applied research. The CES subscribes to a multi-tiered (universal, secondary, and tertiary) prevention and intervention approach to service delivery. Populations served through CES include, but are not limited to, students and staff within primary and secondary public schools and districts; parents of school-aged children; pre-referral intervention teams; intermediate units; approved private day schools; and other non-profit organizations focused on education and violence prevention. Services include training and technical assistance for School-wide Positive Behavior Support, class-wide positive behavior support including Strengthening Emotional Support Services for emotional support classrooms, interventions for non-classroom settings including the Lunchroom Behavior Game, Response-to-Intervention, as well as individual student services including Functional Behavior Assessment, Curriculum Based Measurement, and general academic and behavioral assessment to generate empirically based behavior and academic support plans. Doctoral degree in school (preferred), clinical or counseling psychology, special education or related field required;
- Advanced training in research design, methodology, statistics and computer applications is required;
- PA Psychologist license or license eligible preferred;
- Supervisory experience with junior-level department staff and trainees;
- 5 (five) years’ experience in a school or university setting.
- 3 (three) years’ experience in a senior-level role (e.g., Consulting/Research Psychologist). Devereux CES experience preferred;
- Demonstrated experience and success in research and analysis, and obtaining external funding;
- Proven record of presenting and training experience, including local and national presentations;
- Exceptional organizational, communication and customer service skills are essential.
- Knowledge of Microsoft systems (especially Excel and PowerPoint) required; knowledge of Power BI advantageous.
