Pay:

  • Base pay now starting at $60000
  • Experience credit applied in addition to base pay capping out at $68400
  • $1,560 annual increase for Master degree

For over 50 years -- The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT the Quality Improvement Specialist will be part of a cohesive, passionate and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.

Position:

We are seeking a Quality Improvement Specialist who has experience with the student population and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with learning differences and mental health/behavioral challenges. If this describes you, then look no further!

Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 9am-5pm

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Demonstrates the skills, knowledge and abilities to understand, implement, as well as impact regulatory guidelines and professional standards.
  • Practices within and influences others to follow external and internal guidelines governing the facility and one’s professional licensure guidelines. The internal guidelines include, but are not limited to; Devereux policies and procedures, credentialing and staff development.  Also, must demonstrate a degree of understanding of and implementation of applicable external controls such as, but not limited to, local licensing authorities and managed care procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to establish systems and measures to ensure a safe environment, identify risks to applicable customers and take appropriate interventions.
  • Responsible for responding to emergency situations and implementing appropriate procedures as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to investigate, intervene and resolve complaints as well as seek appropriate resources to solve problems.
  • Actively participates to reinforce a safe environment and implement changes within scope of responsibility.
  • Enters, evaluates and/or audits data.
  • Works to improve operational, functional and technical systems.
  • Develops and evaluates formal systems and procedures to improve quality of system information.
  • Performs a variety of tasks to develop, maintain, and manage data.
  • Establishes systems to achieve, monitor and maintain efficiencies, ensure continuous flow of information to appropriate parties.
  • Participates in the data collection and analysis process. May develop and provide systems and/or training to address needs identified through a systematic process. 
  • Provides clerical and administrative support to Quality Improvement. Maintains department records/files including sensitive and confidential issues regarding individuals, their families, staff, and other agencies.
  • Establishes and maintains systems to ensure information is disseminated to appropriate areas.
  • Assists with Center Development and Public Relations activities as needed.
  • Prepares minutes, coordinates and distributes minutes/reports for various committees.
  • Demonstrates the skills and knowledge to implement, develop and manage services (financial, food services, Human resources, information resources, transportation, etc.) These services will be delivered in such a manner that they will attend to quality issues, cost-effectiveness, outcomes, corrective actions, the implementation of “Best Practices” and innovative methods of service delivery.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor degree in psychology, sociology, education or related field preferred. Prior relevant experience may be considered, in lieu of educational requirement.

 

Experience: Requires at least two years’ experience in the health care field.  Previous experience in Quality Management/Improvement is preferred. Proficient computer skills and mastery of Microsoft Office applications is required. Experience with data collection/analysis and use of electronic health records is preferred. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines. Requires ability to work flexible schedule. Valid driver's license required.
