Description

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations providing services, insight and leadership in the evolving field of behavioral healthcare. Devereux Arizona serves more than 4,000 individuals with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences each year across the state. We offer residential treatment, short-term residential treatment, a private school, outpatient services, integrated care services, prevention programs, respite services and therapeutic foster care.

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the External Affairs Director works with Devereux leadership (national and center) to strategically locate and develop organizational priorities related to current and new business opportunities with a focus on the external operating environment. The External Affairs Director works cohesively with organizational leaders to communicate and support them in strategically developing, maintaining, and/or expanding Arizona programs by engaging with funder and referral sources (current and new). This position represents Devereux Arizona at external meetings (statewide/nationally) to build and foster relationships with constituents that benefit the organization through brand promotion, marketing, community relations, new business and fund development to ensure financial sustainability.

 

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with some weeknight and weekend hours required

Hybrid work environment; statewide travel as needed

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Marketing, or Organizational Development, or Health and Human Services Fields preferred; Equivalent professional experience may be substituted for formal education with a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five (5) years of experience in a senior management position within a health care institution
  • Five (5) years experience working in an setting with an emphasis in sales, business relations, external affairs, marketing, project planning and customer service
  • Supervises projects and/or people and over time has increasing responsibilities; manages multiple tasks effectively
  • Will need to have and/or quickly develop a comprehensive understanding of the complex behavioral health system within Arizona and other markets as determined
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the continuum of care offered by Devereux Arizona as well the ability to identify where Devereux Arizona can effectively develop new business aligned with the larger organizational strategic plan
  • Act with a high degree of independent judgement and action under minimal supervision
