Being a Behavior Support Specialist at Devereux PA Children's Services has its Advantages

As a Behavior Support Specialist (BSS) you will work with our Brandywine School students who have frequent challenging behaviors in a school setting which is located on our West Chester, PA campus.

Every day as a Behavior Support Specialist you will:

• Provide behavior management support to individuals in a school setting.
• Carry out specific interventions that are developed by the Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
• Transfer skills to individuals’ natural support in the least restrictive environment.
• Support teachers in managing student behaviors in the classroom.

The Brandywine School located in West Chester, PA offers education curriculum to children functioning at all grade levels. A multi-sensory educational strategy is used at all schools, employing traditional instruction, hands-on and independent learning, as well as technology, to individualize a student’s progress in all academic areas, particularly math and reading. The transition from school to career, and all of the necessary interrelated skills, are a main focus of the school program. Children and young adults may come to Devereux as a day student, or as a part of residential treatment. EDUCATION: Registered Behavior Technician certification or RBT eligible; required.. Bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of work experience with children or adolescents with behavior challenges preferred.
