The Nurse Manager serves as liaison with on-call physicians, the pharmacy, medical providers, and independent contractors, while assuring the delivery of quality nursing services in accordance with established nursing procedures.

 

As a Nurse Manager at our Adult Services in Berwyn, PA Campus

 

  • Report directly to the National Director of Nursing
  • Support and supervise your nursing team that in their duties to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of our clients dealing with behavioral issues. 
  • Interact with our pharmacy, family, support coordinators, staff, and program leaders.
  • Provides crisis prevention and intervention and consultation .
  • Offer feedback and training to staff regarding their performance improvement and development
  • Monday- Friday 9am- 5pm with the ability to flex in times of staffing coverage and or support needed for evening shift.
  • Utilize a portion of one day per week (typically Wednesday) to focus on the Infection Prevention needs of the organization.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Adult Services provides programs and services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our main campus is located in Berwyn PA. Our dedicated team of over 600 staff ranging from highly-specialized clinicians and nurses to recreational and direct staff professionals, all work to one common goal the happiness, self-fulfillment and social integration of each adult in our community.

 

As a nurse you will serve as the health care advisor to the interdisciplinary team. You will guide direct support professionals in the implementation of a program to ensure high quality health care services. Nurses will also monitor assigned Individuals and recognizes change in health status. You will identify health care needs, and plans and implement a priority of care and appropriate interventions to meet those needs in accordance with established nursing procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: 

Requires a minimum of five (5) years nursing experience in a health care facility, preferably working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, and/or TBI.

At least three (3) years supervisory experience preferred. 

Requires demonstrated leadership abilities. 

Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

Proficient computer skills and mastery of Microsoft applications. 

Must possess and maintain valid driver's license, and be at least 21 years of age. 

 

EDUCATION: 

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, and have a license to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in

the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  BSN preferred but not required.    

 

Completion of the CDC Requirements for Infection Preventionist to establish credibility. Required within 3 months of hire.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Ability to administer CPR and first aid. Ability to properly restrain adult client. Ability to create

and maintain a therapeutic milieu. Regularly requires walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, repetitive wrist/hand movement, and pushing/pulling.  May require lifting up to 50 lbs.  Requires continuous normal hearing (40-60 decibels or 40-60 decibels with correction) and vision (20/20 or 20/20 with correction). Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.  Occasional operation of Devereux vehicles, required.     

 

Work Environment: Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Protective equipment – latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Some degree of physical involvement in exercise of S&PA I, II and III techniques (when required).

 

Core Curriculum: As required annually by licensing agencies and Devereux (organization and Center-specific modules).
