As a School Nurse at Devereux, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer:
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located at our Day Academy in Highland, NY, this position is responsible for maintaining standards of developmental disabilities nursing practice, and Federal and State regulations as they pertain to School programs. They will maintain current health care information for program participants and students, ensure that medications are administered as prescribed, and ensure that Approved Medication Administration Personnel are supervised and their certification is maintained as required by regulations and agency policy. The Registered Nurse will also communicate with parents/agency to obtain permission for hospitalization, report serious injuries/illnesses, and inform them of medical examinations and changes in medication.
Salary: (commensurate with education and experience)
With AA/AS: $78,489.84 - $83,984.12
With BA/BS: $80,569.84 - $86,209.72
With MA/MS: $82,649.84 - $88,435.32

Education: RN or BS in Nursing and successful completion of the State Board Examination for licensing.
Experience: One year experience with handicapped population, psychiatric nursing background preferred.
Physical Requirements: Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances. Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 50 or more. Using standard crisis intervention procedures, must be able to singlehandedly effect the initial restraint of children and adolescents weighing between 75 and 150 lbs.
