Description

Devereux is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations providing services, insight and leadership in the evolving field of behavioral healthcare. Devereux-Arizona serves more than 4,000 individuals with emotional, behavioral, and cognitive differences each year across the state. We offer residential treatment, short-term residential treatment, a private school, community-based services, integrated care services, prevention programs, respite services and therapeutic foster care.

 

Reporting to the Revenue Cycle Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist performs medical billing, collections, and accounts receivable reconciliation functions. This position communicates with payors to resolve billing issues and any discrepancies on payments. Other job duties include: reviewing billing system reports and working with programs to ensure completeness, accuracy of revenue, and billing generation; performs related duties, special assignments, and projects as required. This position is also the liaison between the financial department and Devereux Arizona programs and works collaboratively to improve systems and foster strong business relationships with funding agencies and other stakeholders.

 

Pay Range: $20 - $22 / hr

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, with evenings and weekends as required

Hybrid Work Enviornment: remote (home office) and in-office days

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalency required

  • Two (2) years of related experience in accounts receivable/billing/collections preferred
  • Certified Professional Biller (C.P.B.) or certified coding specialist preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer literacy and receivables software knowledge
  • Knowledge of behavioral health terminology preferred

OTHER:

  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment
  • Must be available to attend new hire orientation (paid, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm) plus on the job training
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions). Arizona Revised Statutes Notice (ARS 36-411 Residential care institutions; nursing care institutions; home health agencies; fingerprinting requirements; exemptions; definitions).
