Position: Maintenance Repair Worker

Rate: $21.59 per hour

Schedule: Full Time, 37.50-hour workweek (daylight, with some on call in evenings and weekends)

Location: Eastern suburbs – primary worksite is Homestead

 

Devereux TCV Community Services is hiring for a Maintenance Repair Worker!

 

Job description:

The Maintenance Repair Worker position must perform duties with little supervision meeting high quality standards:

  • Repair and maintain buildings, mechanical equipment, work on plumbing, basic electrical, general maintenance on air-conditioning and heating systems.
  • Paint, drywall repairs; fix windows, walls, doors, floors, woodwork, or other building structures.
  • Replace electrical switches/outlets, basic electrical wiring for light fixtures, ceiling fans, etc.
  • Unclog toilets and drains; replace faucets, supply valves and lines, toilet seats, and valves.
  • Use basic diagnostic tools such as voltage detectors/testers and thermometers.
  • Perform all work following infection control procedures and maintain clean, safe work area.
  • Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and assist in snow removal.
  • Assist in snow removal, yard work.
  • Obtain supplies from approved vendors upon approval from supervisor.
  • Perform on-call, as assigned, and mandatory call-in for essential duties such as snow removal.

Qualifications

To qualify, we require:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three (3) years of general maintenance-related work experience.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid PA driver's license and a three (3) year MVR record.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 80 lbs. -repetitive heavy lifting.
  • Act 33/34 (PA State Criminal History and Child Abuse) and FBI clearances required.
