Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. As a People Operations Specialist based out of Red Hook, NY (upper Dutchess County), you will:

  • Provide recruitment support and candidate management (managing the organization's ATS (iCIMS), coordinating and scheduling interviews, drafting and sending candidate communications, posting job requisitions, screening resumes, assisting with recruitment events, etc.)
  • Coordinate pre-employment and onboarding (scheduling and tracking pre-employment appointments, administering drug screens, collecting and verifying references, submitting required background checks, monitoring pending results, preparing files, ensuring documents are complete and accurate, assisting with orientation setup, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance and recordkeeping (maintaining compliance tracking logs for all pre-employment and onboarding activities, partnering with Manager to ensure staff meet requirements, conducting periodic audits of files, handling confidential information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policy, etc.)
  • Provide People Operations support (assisting with HRIS entry, collaborating with the team to ensure smooth hiring and onboarding experiences, providing exceptional customer service, special projects as assigned, etc.)

Salary: (commensurate with education and experience)

With HS diploma: $22.50 - $24.07 per hour

With Bachelors: $23.50 - $25.14 per hour

With Masters: $24.50 - $26.21 per hour

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources, onboarding, or people operations; nonprofit or healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with state and federal background clearance processes (e.g., OPWDD, Justice Center, NYSED) a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (e.g., Oracle, Kronos, ICIMS).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to the mission of supporting individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.
