You will also:

  • Play a key role in the efficient and effective operation of our day and residential programs 
  • Oversees staff scheduling and ensures programs are maximizing staff utilization
  • Provides support and guidance to direct care staff and program supervisory staff
  • Provides mentorship and training to program administrators and other supervisory staff
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations including title 22 and title 17
  • Represents Devereux with families, community providers, regulatory, and funding agencies
  • Works collaboratively with other department directors, administrative, and supervisory staff

 

Devereux  is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. Nestled near the beaches between the Pacific Coast and Santa Ynez mountains, Devereux California is a therapeutic behavioral health treatment facility offering residential services, community living, day programs, and clinical services for adults with multiple diagnoses, including autistic spectrum disorders, emotional and/or behavioral differences, intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia and other cognitive disorders. Our beautiful Goleta campus overlooks the Pacific Ocean, and has been treating adults with co-occurring diagnoses in California since 1945. The assistant program director position is responsible for providing leadership, support, and guidance to Program Administrators and supervisory staff.

 

Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday 10am-6pm with weekend availability and on-call availability.

Salary $70,000-$76,000

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant leadership experience in a  

residential, day program, and/or community program setting serving individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Be  

certified by the State of California as ARF and/or RCFE administrator or be willing to obtain. 

 

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a residential, day program, and/or community program setting  

serving individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.   

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing, using  

hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controlsOccasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.   

Regularly requires lifting/moving weight of up to 10lbs, frequently lift/move up to 25lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs. 

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust  

focus. 

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: All Devereux staff must be able to pass a through background and Livescan check, oral drug screen, and have a valid California driver's license and clean driving record.
