Description

The Devereux Adolescent Health and Wellness Clinic is a specialty outpatient clinic providing whole-person care to teens and young adults. We know the transition to adulthood brings physical, hormonal and emotional changes. Through the integration of primary care and behavioral health practitioners with specialties in adolescent health, we meet adolescents’ unique healthcare needs at one location.

 

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Medical Assistant provides direct, hands-on medical assistance to practitioners treating patients in an integrated health care setting. The role of the Medical Assistant (MA) in this setting is to improve and/or optimize the clinic workflows of medical practitioners by assuming responsibilities for medical tasks that can be performed by an MA. Medical practitioners include physical health care providers such as pediatricians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and behavioral health practitioners including psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical staff, and medical/behavioral health interns as assigned.

 

Pay Range: $18.00 - $19.80 / hr

Full Time Schedules: Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm; later coverage (6pm) may be needed (schedules are subject to change)

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or  older (per licensing standards)
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Medical Assistant Certificate; Completion of a Medical Assistant Externship
  • Experience working with individuals in behavioral health preferred
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; customer service experience required
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn other software programs
  • Ability to work in a fast paced office and prioritize multiple duties

OTHER:

  • Must be available to attend full time new hire orientation (paid, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm)
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results

  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).
