Pay:

  • Base pay now starting at $88000 / year
  • Experience credit applied in addition to base pay capping out at $100320
  • $1,560 annual increase for Master degree

For over 50 years -- The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT the Nurse Manager position will be part of a cohesive, passionate and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.

Schedule:

Sunday 1pm-9pm, Monday 7am-3pm, Tuesday 9am-5pm, Wednesday 9am-5pm, Thursday 7am-3pm with on-call rotations (as needed)

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee nursing department including other RNs, LPNs and CNAs (includes training, supervision, support).
  • Provide staff trainings according to Department of Children and Families guidelines.
  • Examine students with medical and/or physical complaints. Administer first aid and medical treatments, as needed. Refer students with illness/injury to physician for further treatment.
  • Maintain compliance with Department of Children and Families licensing, prepare and participate in site visits and licensing review.
  • Assist with physical examinations, as needed.
  • Implement physician’s prescriptions for medication and treatments.
  • Administer medication to students, control counts, MAR completion and oversight, packing medications for student travel. 
  • Communicate medication changes, treatments, and do observations to appropriate staff.
  • Communicate medical information on all students to outside medical professionals, parents and agencies, as required.
  • Oversee coordination of student’s medical appointments with outside medical professionals.
  • Coordinate scheduling of student appointments with consulting physicians (Pediatrician and Psychiatrist).
  • Maintain medical records of students including medical history, drug reactions, allergies, prescribed medications, immunizations.
  • Maintain the electronic medical records to meet Devereux compliance.
  • Develop Medical Treatment Plan for each student, and attend PPT’s as requested.
  • On-call rotations as needed and scheduled.
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse License in the State of Connecticut. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents in behavioral health residential, inpatient setting, and/or psychiatric healthcare setting.
