Description

Devereux Arizona’s Residential Treatment Center (RTC) is a beautiful 24-hour, 10-acre campus located in the heart of Scottsdale. The RTC is a safe, supportive environment that provides various services to youth, from the ages of 7 to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. The RTC features dormitories, an accredited K-12 school, food services, 24/7 on-site nursing, and specialized therapy and clinical services.

 

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide direct daily medical management for our adolescent population. Nurse job duties can include (other job duties as assigned):

  • Performing/assisting with vitals during and following the Emergency Severity Index (ESI), and debriefing with the individual
  • Performing medication passes throughout day of both medicinal and psychotropic medications
  • Conducting screening for vision and hearing on all individuals
  • Updating of patient information and records into system; completing all Providers’ medical orders in an acceptable and timely manner
  • Maintaining inventory of medical supplies and ensures procurement of needed medical items through purchase order system
  • Training new staff on nursing service routines and job duties; maintaining effective communication with all departments involved with direct client care

Additional Information:

  • Pay Range: $38/hr - $41.80/hr
  • Shift Differentials Opportunity: $2/hr. 3:00pm - 11:00pm; $4/hr. 11:00pm-7:00am
  • Work Location: 6436 E Sweetwater Ave., Scottsdale, Arizona 85254
  • Overnight Schedule (rotating weeks): 9:00pm - 9:00am Mon, Tues, Wed and Tues, Wed, Thurs (schedules are subject to change)

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current valid RN license to practice in Arizona with no restrictions required
  • Six (6) months nursing experience required
  • Previous behavioral health experience with children/adolescents or pediatric nursing preferred

  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and multitasking skills

OTHER:

  • Ability to attend New Hire Orientation Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm (paid)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (OR eligibility to obtain with no restrictions). Arizona Revised Statutes Notice: If a person's employment record contains a six-month or longer time frame during which the person was not employed by any employer, a completed application with a new set of fingerprints shall be submitted to the department of public safety.
